Episode Transcript
Ben Silverio 0:04
Hey, I'm Ben Silverio,
Ansel Burch 0:06
and I'm Ansel Burch,
Ben Silverio 0:08
and it's time to party.
Ansel Burch 0:16
We're not doctors who don't give medical advice. Please drink responsibly. This little promo snippet thing was recorded on January, 20, 2025,
Ben Silverio 0:25
theme song. I don't know why I did that. That was
Ansel Burch 0:32
theme song. This is our new theme song.
Ben Silverio 0:38
I swear to you party people, that will not be our new theme song. We will have the same amazing theme song from Marlon longit Marlon shakes for as long as we do this. It's too good. It's too good. But also happy new year. We are a few weeks behind on saying that to you, but things happen, you know, in the new year, right?
Ansel Burch 1:04
Things, things, things have definitely happened. Things
Ben Silverio 1:07
have happened. On the day that we were recording this, there's a big change coming in our country. My city is currently still burning. Those fires are working on being contained, and the Santa Ana winds are coming back this week. Y'all in Chicago are freezing your asses off. We are
Ansel Burch 1:28
we? Are we? We are on the opposite end of the spectrum. It's
Ben Silverio 1:32
it is pretty wild, yes, but we wanted to drop in and check in and make sure y'all are good. Make, make, trying to make sure you're enjoying the party. You know? Because two things, two, two very important things. The first thing is that Ansel has a great new project that we really want you all to check out Ansel when you tell them about it, yeah,
Ansel Burch 2:01
so you can find it at for the time being. So that's the name of the project, no numbers this time, all spelled out with words for the time being. And it is an actual play podcast of a game that I designed. So if you're new to actual play, actual play podcasts are people playing a role playing game, usually, and you get to enjoy the story. You get to enjoy the improv improvisation. You get to enjoy the character development and discovery that comes with it. So think of it as a an improv based show with a bit more structure to it. This might be similar to shows like dimension 20 or critical role. If you're familiar with those, I won't pretend to be anywhere near as famous as those people, but we are doing a similar thing. We're telling stories improvisationally with through the lens of a game, and this one is time travel themed. So if you enjoy this show, you are probably going to enjoy that show. Our characters are absolutely banana pants. We have and we have some friends of the pod on the show as well. The incredible Stella cheeks is playing an alien from a distant galaxy who comes to solve problems in our timeline. The inimitable Ben banks is playing a hard, bitten cop from the 70s who accidentally finds himself, yeah, he picks up a pocket watch and is like, Ah, shit. Now I'm a time traveler. He's too old for this shit. He's that. He's that character archetype. I love it. Yeah, absolutely incredible. We have Omar Burgos playing a Pharaonic cat from the high dynasty of Egypt, which is, which is delightful. And the incredible poppy seed is playing a yes, a Hollywood starlet from an alternate timeline in which the Hollow Earth is real. So she's like an adventure propaganda movie star who is also just a badass. Very cool. Yeah,
Ben Silverio 4:20
yes, so we would like you all to check out this amazing project. It sounds super fun. Make sure you do that. You know, maybe before, after listening to the new episodes of time to party which are coming to you soon.
Ansel Burch 4:38
Yeah, the other party drops on Mondays, and for the time being, will drop on Tuesdays. So you'll have your the first half of your week will be absolutely sorted.
Ben Silverio 4:49
It'll be great. You'll have the time of your life. Ah, ha, ha. The second reason why we are checking in right now is that we are about. Give you, you know, we give you a party every week, right? But like next month there's a celebration, yeah. You know, we here at Time to party. Have been doing this for four years, if you can believe it, which is so wild to me,
Ansel Burch 5:19
because five from when we started recording, just to pull back the curtain a little bit more, but
Ben Silverio 5:27
we, we did have to wait a little while before releasing it. COVID had planned because, you know, things happened. Oh, wild times. What just started out as a as an excuse for friends to gather and talk about movies we like test turned into a beacon of joy. And I'd like to publicly acknowledge the contributions that Mr. Ansel Burch has made to this podcast. Oh
Ansel Burch 5:58
no, we're doing this.
Ben Silverio 6:00
We I have to do it. I have to, you know, say how grateful I am to have you as a creative partner and a friend. You know, you lend your gifts of technological knowledge and actual knowledge and your secret history as a timed traveler, you know, to our wonderful endeavor. And I'm so glad that we've been doing it all of these years together. It is so much fun every time we make it happen. And I'm so excited to share everything we have coming this year with all of our lovely and incredible listeners.
Ansel Burch 6:41
Thank you so much. Ben, that's those words mean a lot and and it has been an incredible time to share with you as well, like we have been, ha, we've been a through a fair amount as a production duo, the last little bit in our in our lives, both in the pod and outside. And I am so stoked by what we've got already planned for the coming year, and I'm also excited to find out what is going to happen that we don't see coming. You know, so many of our most exciting episodes in the last year came at like the last moment, because something became available, or we got an approval to talk to a director or see a movie. And, man, I hope that that blessing continues to fall into our into our sphere. Oh, yes, and continue to give you more spaces to do the entertainment journalism that is your calling. Oh, thank you.
Ben Silverio 7:50
Well, we'll see what the future is in store for us, but until then, friends, you can find us on the internet. I'm at B Silverio 20 on X Instagram, blue sky, letterboxed, and you know, whatever.
Ansel Burch 8:08
And I am at the indecisionist on blue sky. And all the meta properties you can find this show, the one you're listening to right now, and all of my other projects@indecisionist.com
Ben Silverio 8:20
if you still use a social media platform, that uses hashtags, you can use the hashtag time to party. That's time the number two party to join the conversation. As
Ansel Burch 8:30
well as time to time the number two party, all spelled out. Thanks to Warwick, yeah, this has been an indecisionist production special. Thanks to April maralba for our podcast art and to Marlon longit of Marlon and the shakes for our amazing theme song. Hell
Ben Silverio 8:45
yes, we will be coming back with regular episodes starting the first week of February. So keep an eye out to your pod catchers and all that good stuff. You know, subscribe and leave reviews if you want, I guess. But you know, we're all just here for a good time, right? Yeah, that's right. We're not here for a long time, but we sure are here for a good time in
Ansel Burch 9:12
the long arm of our long view of history. Certainly.
Ben Silverio 9:16
So until then, friends be excellent to each
Ansel Burch 9:19
other and party on dudes.
Ben Silverio 9:32
I'm imagining, like, Snoopy versions of like the cast back to the future, just like dancing like
Ansel Burch 9:38
yeah, on top of the DeLorean is yes,
Ben Silverio 9:41
Einstein is on Snoopy house like
Ansel Burch 9:44
Yes, there it is. Where
Ben Silverio 9:47
is this? Where's the peanut spec to the future crossover. Send us that fan art.
Ansel Burch 9:53
We demand it. You.
